Sick Day Must Have--- Revive Hot/Cold Pack

So, it was a quietly kept secret that I stayed home sick from work today.  I wasn't feeling well yesterday and today was not better... so I played hookie and watched TLC all day while doing laundry and sleeping on and off.  However, there has been ONE godsend for me, other than ibuprophen.

You see, when I am in pain, nothing feels better than a hot water bottle... but who can really stand those things?  They are rigid and bulky and they make everything they touch smell like bitter plastic.  Yuck!  But then I remembered something my mom had picked up at a TJ Maxx that I recommend everyone run out and buy now.

These Revive Hot/Cold packs are a godsend.  This is just a picture that I pulled of the internet.  Ours is teal with monkeys on it.  At a glance, these are just the typical old school ice pack that can be refilled and reused again and again... handy enough, you don't need to wrap them in a towel or anything, because they already ARE a towel.  But what you may or may not know... is that they are also good for HOT.

One, these buggers are small, so you don't have to deal with a book sized hot water bottle made of thick bitter rubber.  They end up being about the size of a grapefruit when they are full.  You unscrew the cap and you can fill them up with hot water, ice, cold water... probably snacks if you wanted to... and then you apply to the area you want.

Two, I travel a lot.  A LOT.  There are months where I spend more time on the go than in my own bed.  So these are great to just toss in your go bag.  If you need to, you can get a cup of ice/hot water from any gas station or coffee shop and then jump back on your Greyhound bus.

If I remember correctly, these only ran a couple of bucks and they were entirely worth the hype at our local TJ.  I do suggest running out to get one NOW.  Because, uh, well, it's the only thing keeping me sane right now.
