Lorac Mint Edition Palette Review

So my newest conquest was the Lorac Mint Edition Palette.  I bought it on sale (yay!) because I am a sucker for free shipping.  I really have mixed feelings on this palette, as you would have seen if you follow my instagram (@mommyslittleharpy) where I left a mini review on it.  I'm trying to get better by the way, with updating this blog and the instagram.   If you follow me on instagram, it will be a good indication of when there will be a new product reviewed on my blog.  Meanwhile, thanks for the support.  I have some samples that need reviewed too and I need to get on that... but anyway.  Mint Edition.

I bought this palette because I was mainly excited about that pretty green in the bottom left of the photo.  However, it was not what I expected.  The matte shadows were pretty meh in my opinion with very little color pay off, with or without primer, and not much pigmentation.  Although, I will be honest and say that I was being kind of judgmental and comparing it to Revealed 2 (Which I LOVE and will do a review on next).  Here's the thing.  The mattes simply are very dusty and they have A LOT of fall out on the palette and on my face.  Yuck.  I hate that.

But the shimmers were another story.  Go figure, right?  Plain Jane me who prefers matte shadows... buys a palette with awesome shimmers.  The shimmers have a great hold and payoff.  But that was not the best part... the BLUSH AND HIGHLIGHTER are amazing!

I do not usually buy combination palettes because the chances of me liking everything in a palette are slim to none.  I also hate when my eyeshadow gets on my blush brush.  But whatever.  I will deal.  The blush is this perfect peach color and it is SO CREAMY.  And then the highlighter adds a nice touch in the corner of the eyes or on the cheeks, in the cupids bow, wherever.  It is beautiful.  Honestly, I would purchase the palette again (on sale mind you) just for the blush and highlighter.  Although I am sure that Lorac has both of them separately.

it also came with a pale pink gloss.  Being fair skinned like myself, there was really no place for that light pastel baby pink, since it didn't really have any peach undertones.  But it was a gorgeous consistency.  It wasn't tacky or sticky and I would definitely try it again in another shade.

So, overall, the purchase was not regrettable, but it does not go down in history on the list of greatly remembered palettes.  But I am excited because, uhm... My boyfriend is taking me to Ulta later, where I will be able to go and buy the Country Palette from Too Faced that I have been lusting after.
