Scars. Everyone has them, some of us are cursed with them. I ended up with some bum piercings that had to be removed. So this post goes as a warning and a solution in one.
First, let me start you off with a little piercing information. You should always know the gauge commonly used for the piercing that you want. Otherwise, like I was, you could end up with a too big or too small hole in your body. Also, you should consider the chance of rejection and weigh that as a possibility before you get your piercing.
Also, DON'T BE CHEAP!
I went to a small place in "The Busy Mall" in Flushing, NY. It's not far from my school and all of the girls that get piercings tend to go to this place. Sam's Silver Image (37-12 Main Street). I forewarn you to turn around and go somewhere else. Sam offers competitive prices and discounts for returning, which is enticing, but do resist the temptation. He is RUDE and condescending. You go in and say what you want and he goes into some condescending rant and then proceeds to give you your piercing. However, this is not where it ends. Sam does whatever the fuck he wants. He insists that his piercings never reject--- if there is a problem, it is your fault because you must have hurt the healing piercing. This is false. Just about everything I have gotten there has had problems through no fault of my own.
The only reason he has so much repeat business is because he offers piercings at half price when he is not getting enough business and because he does not competently check IDs or require parental consent. I once watched him pierce an underage girl who brought a note allegedly from her mother. And then he pierced a girl who had one of her friend's cousins come with her to provide consent. This is a shady business and you should do yourself a favor and spend the extra cash to get your piercing done somewhere legit with polite and professional piercers. I don't know what to call them because technically they are not artists. Ha ha!
So now, since my piercings have produced some unsightly scars on my abdomen, my mother brought me a scar remedy. I started it a few days ago and am already seeing light improvement. The product is called "Kelo-Cote Spray" and it is good stuff! It does not claim to be some miracle treatment that will miraculously dissolve your scars, it simply promises improvement with 2 daily applications over the course of 6 weeks. This is bot plausible and reasonable.
Application of the spray is no different than spray sun-screen. It comes in an aerosol can that's about 4 or 5 inches tall and an inch and a half wide--- fits easily in a suitcase or purse. Now, it honestly hurts a little to apply because it's cold. It's like if you stick an ice cube on the top of your foot. You know? Cold hurty. But it does work. There is a small marked improvement in the coloration of my scars within a week.
I have tried other products that have done nothing and this is a breath of fresh air!
So here ends my review.
Hugs and Kisses,
Miss Taylor Lynn
