So my face looks tired and my hair is all gunked up with Spray and nonsense. What to do, what to do? Well first, I have to shove myself into some jeans and go to Academic Advising at 7am because fuck me. But after that, I got to come home and take a shower.
First up from the "Samples for Review" Beauty Cupboard was the Elin Biance Shampoo and Hair Mask.
I was sent these samples for review, and honestly, they were just too pretty and I almost didn't want to use them because then they would be gone! (So pretty!) And I am ADDICTED to all things sample/travel sized. The shampoo does not foam very much, but a little goes a very long way. I was a little disappointed at the lack of lather, but I stood to be corrected. Wash and rinse.
Then the conditioning mask was on deck-- it was incredible. The formula is very thick, like room temperature coconut oil, but it warmed up in my hands and went into my hair like butter. I let it sit for a few minutes while I washed my face. Rinse.
Now, not only are these products SUPER PRETTY in their packaging, they are incredible in their usage. A little goes a long way, so the sample size should last me through the week at least. I mean, that goes to show that you will be able to get a lot of bang for your buck, BUT I do have very short hair. I would recommend these to anyone, but I won't jump the gun yet because I have a dermorganic hair system to try out too. But anyway. 10/10, Loved it, Will buy.
The third product out of the cupboard was the Liz Earle "Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser." It came in a Birch Box forever ago and I never used it. I have major sample backup at the moment. So, if you have any requests, please shoot me an email or a comment or something and let me know. I will be getting through them as quickly as possible.
This cleansing system came with the bottle of cream and the Muslin cloth, all in a nice little Tiffany Blue box. You're supposed to rub the cream onto your face, eyes, and neck and massage it in to increase circulation and then buff it off with the cloth wet with "hand hot" water. Basically, use hot water but don't scald your face off.
I am always wary of cream cleansers, but I figured that it seemed high end enough that I probably wouldn't break out in extra appendages. The cream was very buttery and applied nicely. It felt really nice to rub it in, but don't get any in your eyes because that actually stung pretty badly. The active ingredients are Rosemary, Chamomile, Cocoa butter, and Eucalyptus Essential oil (which would be the thing that stung so badly). If you're allergic to any of those, do not buy. Also, if you don't like Eucalyptus because of that menthol minty smell, don't worry--- this does not smell like that.
So I put the cream on and let it sit while I rinse out my conditioner and then buff it off with the cloth. This is when a little tiny bit of stinging began. It felt like I was getting a pretty deep cleanse and the cloth felt rough even though I knew that it wasn't. I guess I had a lot of shit and dead skin on my face. But when I popped out of the shower and looked in the mirror...
My skin has never looked so soft and happy before in my life. This is with zero makeup, fresh out of the shower.
It didn't do anything for my dark circles (it wasn't supposed to), but it did slough off any shit that was on my skin as well as dead skin. I was surprised that there was no redness at all from the buffing cloth, but that it made that much of a difference. And this is not younique spider legs mascara difference-- it is a REAL difference with attractive and natural results.
I would recommend this to my fellow fair sisters as well as anyone else. It was very gentle and showed immediate results.
